Absolutely useless stuff. No internet connection nor anything, just a waste of space in my hotel room.
I guess it shows the previously held belief that if you were a business man you would be holding meetings at your hotel room. I still have to find someone who does that… Stiff and bureaucratic.
I spent a couple of days in Madrid for business reasons, and as usual enjoyed it thoroughly.
Madrileños, unlike citizens of other capitals, like to stay up late, and it really shows. Furthermore, I was surprised by the level of stress of some of the people there.
Regardless, it is one of my favourite cities in Europe. Feels like Mexico, but the people are somewhat whiter and speak funny 😉 .
I have occasionally wondered if the subtitle of this blog is just too pretentious. Then I am reminded of the accuracy of it by things like those that have happened to me in the last two weeks: we visited a Canadian of Vietnamese origin and his Scottish-Norwegian girlfriend in Norway, I missed an appointment for a couple of beers with a Kiwi friend visiting Finland and just had dinner with a Turkish friend (who was living in the US until very recently) and his wife. The books I read, the media I consume are not necessarily produced where I live or where I'm from. Furthermore, for me and many others, these situations and these backgrounds are completely normal.
I was taking a bus when I found a place with a very funny name (something that translates to Orc Meadows, pictured below).
Little did I know that today's Helsingin Sanomat had a piece on the same thing (reported by Finland for Thought). My favourites are places such as Doughnut Cape and A Dog Went Mad… LOL.

First of all, sorry for the posting break. I was in London this week due to work.
A couple of months ago I discovered that there are some blogs specialising in offering MP3 downloads of old vinyl records you cannot find as CDs or in any other medium anymore. My surprise was enormous when I found they had some Pérez Prado vintage albums. He was a mambo musician that was very popular in Mexico City until his death in 1989, and I have to say his music reminds me a lot of the city were I was born, even though I didn't like it before.
