With floods in Tabasco, central Mexico below 0°C and the fires from California spilling to the other side of the border, he/she is definitely having a tough time.
And yes, the weather is going crazy.

Every time I see a sunset like this, I remember the first time I saw this colour. It was on the flight that took me here seven years ago. I had seen before many colours in a sunset, including reds, yellows, oranges and once or twice even greenish hues, but never these tones of pink, which I had only encountered on photographs of the Martian landscape taken by the Viking probes in the seventies (which, of course, made me feel as if I had moved to Mars instead of Finland).
It brings so many memories…

The organisation of the World Cup has been awarded to Brazil for the event in 2014. Furthermore, they have submitted a bid to organise the Olympics in Rio in 2016.
With this, Brazil would become the second Latin American country that organises the Olympics (after Mexico 68), and the second that organises the World Cup for the second time (after Mexico as well, who did so in 1970 & 1984, while the World Cup was in Brazil in 1950).
I definitely think the Brazilians will put a great show, but the country has to be sure that they will be able to cover the expenses involved. These events become bigger and more expensive every time, and as such they are a drain on public resources.
As mentioned last year, the weather is really going crazy. Mexico City is having sub-zero temperatures in the morning with possibility of snow (it's actually colder there than in Helsinki in the morning, even though by noon the thermometer reaches 15°C).
Hope it gets better by Christmas when I'm there, but of course that's not probable.
I have been too busy to tell you guys about this application, now available in Beta labs. Basically, the support for posting to Vox and Flickr just got much better, with better tagging and the possibility to follow the photostreams of others straight from your mobile device. Darla Mack has a good review of the app.
Please give us your feedback (here or, faster, at Tommi's blog).
And Chivas lost again, this time the National Derby against América…
Hope the team finishes their chances next time, as according to the reports in the media they played better than their opponents for long stretches of the game, but ended up losing 2-1.
Definitely a movie I want to see, as it depicts the psicological framework of a former SS guard. Not for the faint of heart, though.
And were thoroughly indignated when I told my friends the whole story of how difficult it is to get the citizenship of the country where I currently live. Don't think anything will change, but was definitely nice to have their support. Without my wife and them, I wouldn't be here, as I wouldn't have understood this culture very much.
