You're welcome! ;o)

I had a Framboise Boon yesterday and it was awful. Kriek Boon, on the other hand.. Let's just say that my first traditional kriek (not sweetened like Lindemans and Timmermans) was a nice surprise.

And now I'm off to the local beer festival, to see if I can discover something new!
No, Duvel and Leffe definitely aren't girly beers. I think only Hoegaarden (along with the other white beers such as Wittekerke, Steendonk, etc.) and the much maligned fruit beers (cherry, raspberry, peach, etc.) get that dubious honour.

I am a woman and quite like Hoegaarden so you might be on to something there, however I'd say Duvel is far nicer with Leffe bringing up the rear. Are these all 'girly' beers?

I think it is a Belgian thing. I'd have a Hoegaarden instead of a Jupiler or Maes every time.

It has a very clean, refreshing taste that goes very well with hot summer weather.

I've noticed that quite a few foreigners list Hoegaarden as one of their favourite beers (both online and in real life).

Is it just a Belgian thing then that Hoegaarden is considered to be a "woman's beer", much like fruit beers?
